The Shadow Crown is made by Superhero Panda Ltd, an independent games studio. It began with one question: what if a new game felt the way the old ones did?
Why a text adventure, in 2026?

I am a big gamer. Call of Duty, Red Dead Redemption, Starfield: I love them all, with their incredible graphics and polish.
But I wanted to build something that took me back to being 11 years old, on an old IBM at the back of maths class, typing NORTH, WEST, LOOK and INVENTORY. Games were so simple then. They had none of the amazing things we have now, and somehow that was the magic.
As Sheldon Cooper once pointed out, text adventures run on the most powerful graphics engine there is: your imagination.
I built The Shadow Crown so that the hero and the world become yours. You have to use your memory, and you will probably die a few times. It is nostalgic and it is fun, and it is all the feelings that got me hooked on games all those years ago.

The Shadow Crown series
The Shadow Crown: Frostwynd Chronicles is the prequel and the first game in The Shadow Crown series, set in the frozen realm of Frostwynd. Most of the realm is still uncharted. Future chronicles will explore more of it.
