Privacy and cookies
We collect as little as possible. The game has no accounts, no ads and no tracking. This website only uses analytics cookies if you say yes.

Who we are
The Shadow Crown: Frostwynd Chronicles and this website, theshadowcrown.com, are made by Superhero Panda Ltd ("we"). This page covers both. For anything about your privacy, email [email protected].
The game
The Shadow Crown: Frostwynd Chronicles collects no personal information. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, on any platform. Your saved game stays on your device and is never sent to us.
- Steam. The Steam version uses Steam achievements and Steam leaderboards. Your achievements and scores are stored by Valve against your Steam account, under the Steam privacy policy.
- iPhone and iPad. If you are signed in to Game Center, your scores are sent to Game Center leaderboards, under Apple's privacy policy. You can turn Game Center off in your device's settings.
- Android and itch.io. Nothing leaves your device.
- The free web demo. It runs on this site and saves your game in your own browser (see below).
Deleting the game, or clearing your browser's storage for the web demo, deletes your save.
This website: analytics, only with your consent
If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use the site: which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are in the world, what device they use, and which buttons, such as the store links, are clicked. This helps us improve the site and the game. It does not tell us who you are.
If you decline, Google Analytics does not set cookies. We use Google's Consent Mode, so at most it receives anonymous signals with no cookies or identifiers. You can change your choice at any time with the cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
Google Analytics cookies, set only if you accept:
| Name | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Tells visits apart | 2 years |
| _ga_<id> | Keeps the state of your visit | 2 years |
Things your browser stores for you
Some features save small notes in your own browser so they work as you would expect. They never leave your device and are not sent to us. They are needed for the features you use, so they do not need consent.
| What | Why | Where |
|---|---|---|
| tsc-mode | Remembers the display mode you picked (green, amber or modern) | Local storage |
| shadowCrownSaveDemo, shadowCrownStatsDemo, localLeaderboardDemo | Your saved game and stats in the free demo, so you can continue later | Local storage |
| tsc-read:… | Remembers which character pages you have translated from runes during this visit | Session storage, cleared when you close the tab |
| tsc-sound | Remembers if you turned Sylvanna's voice off on the home screen | Local storage |
| Your analytics choice | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics | Local storage |
You can clear all of these at any time in your browser settings.
Other services
- Hosting. The site is hosted by Vercel, whose servers briefly process technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages and keep the site secure.
- The trailer. The trailer is a YouTube video in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube may store data in your browser when you play it, under Google's privacy policy.
- Store links. Links to Steam, the App Store, Google Play and itch.io include a tag saying which page of this site you came from, so we can see which pages lead to sales. Once you are on a store, its own privacy policy applies.
- Fonts. Our fonts are served from this site, not from Google Fonts or any other third party.
- Email. If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent. Email [email protected]. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority.
Children
The game is rated 9+. The site does not ask for or knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
